The 2009 Harlem Book Fair begins with a concert and awards program this Friday (7/17) at 6:30 p.m. at the Schomburg Center for Research in Black Culture. The Schomburg is located @ 515 Malcolm X Boulevard, at 135th Street. Reservations are required to attend this free event. Send your RSVP via e-mail to rsvp@qbr.com.
On Saturday, from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m., there will be an outdoor festival on West 135th Street, at Malcolm X Boulevard. Additionally there will be readings and panel discussions at the Schomburg Center, in the Countee Cullen Library Auditorium, 104 West 136th Street; and the Thurgood Marshall Academy, 200 West 135th Street.
